EIS Retail — Frequently Asked Questions

Customer-centric answers for shopping, consolidation, Customs guidance, and pickup in Jamaica. Last updated: Sep 2025

1) General OverviewStart here

What is EIS Retail? The shopping & consumer arm of EIS Global Services. We help you buy from U.S. retailers, receive at our U.S. hub, consolidate, ship to Jamaica, and coordinate broker clearance and pickup.

How is it different from EIS Global Services? Retail serves individuals/small orders; Global Services handles B2B, bulk procurement, and logistics projects.

What can I buy? Most lawful consumer goods. Restricted/prohibited items per airline/ocean and Jamaica Customs are excluded.

Do you hold inventory? No—FastBuy highlights time-sensitive deals from approved retailers.

2) Registration & Membership

Why register? Registration creates your unique EIS-Customer ID to tag and track packages.

Where do I register/login? Via My Account (Freight Services).

Fees: Registration is free. Standard freight/handling/brokerage charges apply per shipment.

Preferred Customer: Eligible returning customers may receive periodic service-fee discounts.

3) Shopping & Order Process

How to shop: Buy from U.S. stores and ship to your EIS U.S. address with your EIS-Customer ID on every label.

Quotes: For large/complex orders, request a quote; approve and pay the deposit if applicable.

Multiple boxes or stores? Use your EIS-Customer ID on each box—we’ll consolidate where feasible.

4) Freight & Consolidation

Consolidation: We combine packages into one outbound shipment to reduce cost per lb.

Freight charges: By weight (per lb). Packing/fragile/bulk handling and broker fees are separate from freight.

Fragile/Oversized: Yes—with protective packing and special-handling fees.

Timelines & tracking: Vary by carrier/mode. We send milestone updates; keep retailer tracking for reference.

5) Jamaica Customs & Allowances (Guide)Important

Heads up: All allowances/duties are set by the Jamaica Customs Agency (JCA) and can change without notice. Final decisions rest with JCA officers.

US$100 online shopping allowance (courier/low value): As currently guided by JCA, online/courier purchases at or under US$100 (FOB/item value) may enter duty-free at the border. Other charges or special cases may still apply.

Traveler’s personal allowance (“yellow form”): Returning residents may access a personal allowance (commonly US$500–US$1,000 for eligible items, subject to JCA rules and circumstances). The yellow declaration form must be completed and presented to Customs/broker.

Documents you may need: Government ID and invoice/receipt showing description and value; more documents may be requested.

See official guidance on the JCA website. We update this page periodically for convenience.

6) Broker & Delivery

Broker: We work with vetted third-party brokers. Broker fees are billed separately by the broker.

Pickup notice: We’ll contact you when cleared; bring ID and invoice if requested.

Delivery: May be available depending on broker and location—ask support.

Damage & insurance: Photograph packaging at pickup; insurance options depend on carrier/shipment type.

7) Payments & Deposits

Methods: See Pay Now for current options.

Deposits: Required for quotes/special orders. Balance due before release/pickup.

Service fee: Transparent EIS service fee for procurement & processing. FastBuy shows pricing with fees where noted.

Refunds: Depend on retailer policy & stage. We’ll assist per policy and update order status.

Storage: Extended consolidation/storage may incur fees—advance notice provided.

Invoices/receipts are provided.

8) FastBuy Program

What is FastBuy? Curated, time-sensitive deals from top U.S. retailers.
